Hi team
,
I’m planning to run an RDS PostgreSQL instance with 2.6 TB of storage for about 1 week. My question is — at the end of the month, will the billing for that storage be calculated for the entire month or just for the 1 week that it was actually used?
Could someone help clarify this?
If you delete the instance and any snapshots at the end of the week you should only get charged for one week
I’m not aware of any AWS resources that are prorated for a whole month if you don’t have the resource provisioned for a whole month. Most services have at least minute-level billing (meaning if you run an EC2 instance or RDS db for 10 minutes, you only get charged for 10 minutes). I think a lot of services are actually billed down to the second
AWS customer support is charged for at least a month. ![]()
