I’ve got another questions about our TFS 2015 instance. It uses SQL Server 2012. Can we upgrade that database to a newer version of SQL Server? And if so, what new version(s) of SQL Server can we upgrade it to?

2012R2 is the highest version e think, but that doesn’t help you at all.
Hmm can’t find the official docs to confirm, it might be in the release notes somewhere if you can find them but TFS 2015 update 3 should support

Well that’s something. On fact that is better than I expected.
Still TFS2015 support ends oct 14 2025.
