I have a vmdk file (debian 9) in an s3 bucket that i want to convert into an AMI, when i try and convert it i get ““StatusMessage”: “ClientError: Disk validation failed [Unsupported VMDK File Format]”,” is debian 9 not supported, is there a way around this?
That’s an error related to the format of the virtual disk, not a complaint about the OS type
Did you export it as an OVF?
Thanks, I’ll check with the team that exported it. All I know is that it’s a VMDK file for Debian 9 VM from a proxmox server. Thanks for giving me a direction to investigate!
