Hello, Datadog doesn’t save longer than a month, So, How can I fix this issue? I want to see all the logs in dashboard even a year ago
The default retention policy is 15 days. These logs THEN are purged, unless your index is for longer periods of time (it can be enabled under your Org Settings, Preferences, Out of Contract retention period for Log Indexes). Beware, they have a different pricing.
When logs are purged/expired they are 100% GONE, unless you configure Log Forwarding to S3/wherever to store them. Then, if you need to see old logs again, you can rehydrate them (they’re all tabs under the Logs category)
It’s all documented and explained
are RUM data and Log data different?
where can I read the document?
And so, what can I do for saving all the data before being removed? Because as a company, we need to keep all the history.
As I said, there’s log archives
And then you can rehydrate https://docs.datadoghq.com/logs/log_configuration/rehydrating?tab=amazons3
To be able to search again
I created a ticket but the staff said, it’s just log, not RUM data. and there’s no way to keep them.
I’d like to keep all the data in dashboard including funnels.
No, RUM data has specific duration (30 days).
It does not have longer periods
However if you generate metrics these should be kept for 15 months
So, you mean log archiving is not related for that. Then, Is there any other way?
You specified logs → logs = logs, not RUM
Only logs can be “exported” to S3
So, how about RUM?? How can I keep them?
